Choose by live usage, not the word “unlimited.”
HighLevel currently offers AI features through Pay-Per-Use, AI Employee Growth at $50 per enabled location each month, and AI Employee Unlimited at $97 per enabled location each month.
Pay-Per-Use has no monthly AI subscription and charges for supported activity as it occurs. Growth bundles a useful allowance for an account with regular but moderate demand. Unlimited covers heavier use across Conversation AI, Voice AI, Reviews AI, and Content AI, subject to fair-use rules.
Do not pay $97 because an AI feature looks promising. Pay when a working automation already handles enough conversations, calls, reviews, or content to make variable billing or Growth overages harder to manage.
Each plan buys a different kind of certainty.
Growth is the useful control group. Its published allowances are large enough to reveal whether the account has real recurring demand, while keeping the fixed commitment below Unlimited. When Growth repeatedly produces overages from valuable work, the $47 monthly difference becomes a concrete calculation instead of a guess.
“Unlimited” does not remove every meter.
- Fair use still applies. HighLevel can throttle or limit excessive use under its terms.
- Phone System charges still apply. The subscription can cover supported Voice AI usage while phone-call charges remain separate.
- Ask AI and AI Studio have rolling allowances. Unlimited currently provides three times Growth's included usage within the published five-hour windows.
- Agent Studio remains pay-per-use. HighLevel's pricing documentation says it is not included in any of the three AI billing options.
That means a responsible budget includes the base AI plan, expected phone charges, overages, and any usage-based tools outside the subscription. Review the agency-level AI usage dashboard instead of relying on a single invoice total.
Unlimited fits operating workflows—not experiments.
- Voice AI answers or places calls throughout the month.
- Conversation AI handles a steady stream of lead or customer messages.
- Review and content workflows are used across a real location.
- The team monitors results, exceptions, and usage every week.
- The account has not launched its first AI workflow.
- Usage is light enough that variable billing stays below the fixed fee.
- No one owns prompt quality, call review, or compliance.
- The main reason to upgrade is fear of missing a feature.
Voice AI can answer questions, qualify leads, book appointments, and trigger follow-up actions. Those capabilities can matter for home services, agencies, and appointment-led businesses, but only after the knowledge base, escalation path, working hours, and human review process are configured.
Make the add-on prove its monthly cost.
- 01
Launch one workflow. Pick calls, lead conversations, reviews, or content—not all four at once.
- 02
Record the baseline. Measure the human time, missed leads, response delay, or outsourcing cost before automation.
- 03
Watch usage and exceptions. Track billable activity, overages, failed handoffs, and work that still requires a person.
- 04
Compare total cost. Include the AI plan, Phone System charges, and any remaining pay-per-use products.
Pay-Per-Use is the safe testing lane. Growth is the practical default for regular activity. Choose Unlimited only when live usage and saved labor make the extra fixed cost easier to defend than continued metering.
